Available Council Seat


Below is the information about the available Council seat and how to apply:

Qualifications: According to the Moreland Hills’ Village Charter, to apply for the open Council seat you must have been a resident and an elector of the Municipality for at least two continuous years before the day of your appointment (January 2018). 

Time Commitment: Each Council member is expected to attend the monthly Council Meeting (the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM), the Committee of the Whole Meeting (the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM) and your assigned Committee meeting. Meetings last about two hours on average. There is preparation time for each meeting that varies both by committee and individual.

Committees: The Council Committees are: Roads & Safety, Facilities, and BZA/Planning Commission. Roads and Safety and Facilities meet as needed; BZA/Planning meets on the first Monday of every month.

Salary: Council members are paid a salary of $500* per month.  

*There was a typo in the newsletter that listed the salary as $600 per month, which is incorrect.
