Diversity & Inclusion Commission

5/1/2022

Are you looking for an opportunity to get involved with your local government? The Village is seeking nine individuals to establish our Inclusion and Diversity Commission. Appointed members act in an advisory capacity to make recommendations to Village Council on areas such as:

  • Messaging in Village created content. Areas include social media, newsletter, website and other communications.
  • Suggestions for programing in our "More in the Hills” series and educational, cultural, and other community sponsored events.
  • Non-discriminatory hiring practices as they relate to Moreland Hills employees. Areas include advertising for vacancies and other promotional efforts.
  • Potential collaboration with neighboring communities and their commissions to help bring about mutual understanding and respect among all persons, and to safeguard the right to be free from all forms of discrimination.

We feel that we have made considerable effort to improve in these areas. However, we can always do better! Please consider helping us in this capacity. Interested residents should email a letter of interest to Sherri at villagehall@morelandhills.comNine members will then be selected by the Mayor, Council President and members of Village Council.  To learn more about the Moreland Hills Diversity and Inclusions Commission, click this link: https://codelibrary.amlegal.com/codes/morelandhills/latest/morelandhills_oh/0-0-0-21289 or visit www.morelandhills.com, click on Codified Ordinances at the top of the page and search for Chapter 161.
