Ordinances & Resolutions
The following Ordinances & Resolutions were passed in December:
an ordinance reappointing Dale Canter as Interim Police Chief for the 2014 calendar year in the interest of the efficient and effective operation of the Police Department.
an ordinance amending Section 153.02 “Paid Holidays” of the Administrative Code to make Christmas Eve a paid holiday for all full-time employees. Currently, the Code provides that Christmas Eve is a ½ day; however, it has been common practice by Council, by motion, to give full-time employees the entire day off on Christmas Eve.
an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to execute a letter of agreement consenting to the assignment and sublease of the Village’s lease with an AT&T affiliate for the wireless telecommunications tower located on Village owned property. The affiliate, Crown Castle, is to operate and manage certain towers currently operated and managed by AT&T.
an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into a business associate agreement with USI, as it pertains to the Village’s group health plans, in order to conform with new Federal rules regarding HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules.
a resolution supporting Western Reserve Land Conservancy’s application to the Clean Ohio Conservation Fund for funding to protect and preserve 20 acres of riparian corridor and green space along the Chagrin River, known as River’s Edge property, which is located in both Moreland Hills and Chagrin Falls. This property slopes in a steep valley with streamside forests and green space that offers opportunities for both open space and watershed protection.
an ordinance fixing the compensation of various officers and employees of the Village of Moreland Hills. The employees will receive a 2.5% raise this year.
a resolution establishing the Winterberry Road Water Main Fund, to be used for the purpose of receiving and expending funds necessary for the replacement and construction of the Winterberry Road water main. The Village will be reimbursed for this project by Cleveland Water.
an appropriations ordinance, which is as monthly financial housekeeping item.
