Non-Complaint Rubbish Carts
In 2014, the Service Department implemented an automated rubbish system, and all residents were asked to purchase a compliant rubbish cart in order for the new system to work properly, safely, and efficiently.
If you have not yet purchased the compliant rubbish cart, the Service Department is requesting that you do so as soon as possible so that you can ensure the pick-up of your rubbish every week. If you do not have the proper cart and/or you have “extra” rubbish that does not fit into your cart, the Service Department will not pick up your rubbish.
There are three sizes available for purchase through the Service Department:
- 95 gallon cart = $60.00
- 65 gallon cart = $55.00
- 32 gallon cart = $50.00
To purchase your cart, mail in a check (made payable to the Village of Moreland Hills) or stop in to the Service Department where you can pay with cash or check (M-F 7:00am-3:00pm); the Service Department will deliver the cart to your home.
If you have large items that will not fit into your rubbish cart, you may call the Service Department to schedule a “Special Pick-Up.” They are done on Mondays and you will need to call the week prior to schedule it. The Village offers three (3) free Special Pick-Ups per calendar year; any additional will be $25.00 each. All items need to be at the road/curbside by 7:00am on the Monday of your scheduled pick-up.

The Service Department would like to remind you that because the recycle Carts were provided to the residents by the Village, they are the property of the Village and therefore must remain with the home if you should move.
