III. Overview of Community Storm Water System

The Village of Moreland Hills is located in the Chagrin River watershed. The Community is 7.26 square miles and includes three tributary streams to the Chagrin's main branch (see map on page 11). There are 932 properties served by Home Sewage Treatment Systems and 409 properties served by sanitary sewers. While small portions of the Community are sewered, the majority of the community is served by home sewage treatment systems. Through the Regional 208 Plan, the Community has determined that these systems will be maintained and that no new sewer lines will be constructed.

The Community storm water system consists of roadside ditches and some streets with curbs, gutters, and storm drains, typically running below the ditches.
