  Utilities Committee Meeting
  July 10, 2008

  The Utilities Committee meeting was called to order by Chairman Ted Buczek at 8:38 am.  Attending were Steve Richman, Council; Susan Renda, Mayor; Mike Henry, Chagrin Valley Engineers; Ted DeWater, Service Director; and Mike Bode, Wastewater Operations Manager.

  Minutes of the June, 2008 meeting were not available.

  GENERAL DISCUSSION

  1. A significant rain event occurred causing electrical power loss throughout the Village.  As a consequence, due to the duration of the outage the Winterberry Pump Station overflowed before the portable emergency generator could be connected.  Mike Bode will complete necessary reporting to Ohio EPA.  Discussion followed regarding the rapid filling of the pump station and the possibility of installing a stationary emergency generator.  No decisions were made.

   
  FACILITY PROGRESS REPORT

  1. The monthly Facility Report was not available.

  STORMWATER PHASE II

  1. No report.

  MISCELLANEOUS

  1. Bids for the Cableknoll force main replacement project were opened and a contract was awarded to AKE Laboratories at the July Council Meeting.

  Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 14, 2008 @ 8:30 am.

  The meeting was adjourned at 9:17 am.
